Truly Tasty Turkey Burgers

Turkey Burgers can truly be TRULY TASTY! Believe me, this recipe will change your opinion forever on any bland turkey burger you’ve ate in the past. I used to seriously dislike turkey burgers because I thought they were tasteless. Matt has perfected this recipe and I get so excited when we are having it for dinner! What more can I say than…YUM!

Gather your ingredients: 1 pound of lean ground turkey, 1 slice of bread (white or wheat, either works fine), milk, 1 yellow onion, 1 jalapeño pepper, 1 serrano pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, coriander, and cumin. Break up the piece of bread into small bits. In a medium sized bowl, mash the bread and 1 tablespoon of milk together with a fork until mushy in consistency. Add the ground turkey. Dice the onion and measure out 1/3 of a cup. Seed and dice the jalapeño and serrano pepper. Chop cilantro with the stems and leaves to measure out two tablespoons. Now mince the garlic and toss in with the 1/4 teaspoon each of coriander and cumin. Lastly, add 1 teaspoon of kosher salt and 1/4 teaspoon of cracked black pepper.

Use your hands and mix together all the ingredients. Once all ingredients are well combined, form the turkey into 1/2 cup cup round patties. Set onto a plate, and press an indent into the middle of each patty with two fingers. Cover with plastic wrap and set in the refrigerator for thirty minutes.

Fire up your grill, or if you don’t own a grill you can cook these on a skillet on your oven. Grill until done to your liking, and serve on a lightly toasted bun. I like to use mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato and red onions to top these burgers, but add whatever you like for these Truly Tasty Turkey Burgers!
